The Lehman Band Boosters are a group of parents and community members who have a strong desire to support the students and directors of the Lehman Lobo Band program. There are no fees required to be a member, nor do you have to be a parent of a student within the organization. Additionally, parents of the Chapa and Simon Middle School Bands are encouraged to become actively involved in the booster organization, as many of the events benefit the middle school band programs.

Booster meetings are typically scheduled on the 2nd Monday of every month at 7:00 PM in the Lehman High School Band Hall. Please check the calendar on the main page of this website to ensure that the date or time has not changed. We hope you become involved!

Booster FAQ’s

Who are the Lehman Lobo Band Boosters?
Generally, the Boosters are the parents of the band students from Chapa Middle School, Simon Middle School, and Lehman High School. This includes parents of children who are involved in the jazz band, wind ensemble, symphonic band, concert band, marching band, indoor drumline and color guard.

What do the Boosters do?
The Boosters raise money for things that the Lobo Band needs but cannot pay for with school district funds (i.e., your tax dollars). We also provide the muscles to help move heavy band instruments and equipment on and off the field during football games and marching contests, ensure that meals are delivered to band students, provide water and food to band students during summer band, and cheer for our kids as they march on the field and play in the stands.

What is the money used for?
Every year, the Lobo Band will travel places. We provide fundraising opportunities for students to help them pay for some of these trips. We also raise money for our organization and use the money raised to start future or continue existing fundraising activities. Some examples of the support we have provided in previous years include funding for master classes and private lessons for students, scholarship opportunities to summer band camps, purchasing needed band equipment and props for the show, and sponsoring the annual end-of-year band banquet.

Do I have to be a band parent to be part of the Boosters?
No. Even if you are not a parent and would like to help support the band program you may become a member of the Boosters. All boosters must complete the Hays CISD volunteer background check.

Are there dues for being a member of the Boosters?
No! All that is required is that you take an active roll in supporting the band program. This could be working fundraising opportunities, helping organize different functions such as dinners or booths, or even as simple as coming to the booster meetings and supplying ideas and information. Being a Booster is one of the easiest and most effective ways of supporting these students!

When are Booster meetings?
The Boosters meet every second Monday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Lehman Lobo Band Hall. Hope to see you there!

Do I have to fundraise?
No. There are plenty of other opportunities for you to help. Keep in mind, however, that this is the best way to pay for your child’s trips and fees.

Will I have fun being a Booster?
Yes, you will! Although we work really hard at times, the work is gratifying in that we see our students thrive with our support and we get to enjoy each other’s company. Come join us and see for yourself!
