Summer Band comes to an end

The Lehman Lobo Band concluded summer band rehearsal Thursday night. Students wrapped up four weeks of rehearsals covering marching, music and all-state materials. The band was privileged with the opportunity to work with staff from all of our middle schools, as well as members of the Texas State University Faculty and Graduate School members, marching technicians from various drum corps, former band directors, composers, and former faculty from fine arts camps including Blue Lake.

The students learned seventy-five percent of their competitive marching show as well as all of the Junior Varsity ROCK show featuring music from rock bands of the seventies and eighties. You will have a chance to catch both of these shows at our first varsity football game versus Westwood at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex Thursday, August 31st.

The last rehearsal of summer band was held alongside our first meeting for our Ireland trip. Parents and students received information from representatives of Perform International about our spring 2019 trip before heading outside for Lobo Ice and a run through of the show. If you missed this meeting there will be another on Tuesday, August 29th in the Lehman Cafeteria.

Classes in Hays CISD begin Monday, August 28th. The Lehman Lobo Band will have an amended schedule for the first week of school to allow students and families to settle into the school year. Rehearsals will be Tuesday, August 29th from 4:45-8:00pm, and Wednesday, August 4:30-5:30pm. Our first football game will be Thursday, August 31st at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex.

We wish everyone a great start to the school year. Yay Lobos! Yay Band!
