Parents we need you!! We are in need of a new crop of Lobo Band Booster Officers for the 2016-2017 season. We have had the great fortune of having an incredibly dedicated group of parents lead this program for 4 years. They have given their time and effort tirelessly to our program and unfortunately they, and their students, will be moving on to other things after graduation. This leaves the Lobo Band with numerous opportunities for NEW parental leadership. If you are a parent of a Lobo Band member I encourage you to get involved and be part of what makes our program a huge success. I can not explain the level of importance and need for parent volunteers. The students are the performers, however it is the parents that make the show happen. There are no fees or hidden costs associated with being a Band Booster or being a Band Booster Officer. We NEED parents to get involved!!! Below is a list of the officer duties:
President: The President shall preside at all Band Booster meetings and oversee all aspects of the Band Booster program. Call meetings of the general membership and Executive Board, when necessary. Serve as ex-officio member of all committees. Coordinates with Band Booster Officers and committees to accomplish Band Booster Objectives. Serves as co-signer on Band Booster bank accounts and is assigned a business debit card with transaction totals limited to a specified amount based on the event. Acts as the spokes person for the Band Boosters at school functions. Acts as a liaison between the Band Boosters, the band directors, high school administration, band parents, and students.
Vice President: The Vice President shall assume the duties of the President in his or her absence. Assist the President as requested. Serves as the Color Guard Festival and Uniform Committee Chairs. Promotes the Band Boosters to band parents, students, and the community at large. Performs other duties as requested by the Executive Board.
Co-Vice President: The Co-Vice President shall assume the duties of the Vice President in his or her absence. Assist the President as requested. Serves as Publicity/Donations and Audit Committee Chairs. It is preferable that the Vice President and Co-Vice President consist of an upper and a lower classman parent. This will allow the organization to have experienced Board members present consistently and will allow for a smooth transition from one year to the next. Performs other duties as requested by the Executive Board.
Treasurer: The Treasurer shall record all financial matters of the Band Boosters, serve as a cosigner on Band Booster funds, collects all receipts or bills for all disbursements. Presents current financial reports to executive board and general membership meetings. Maintains an accurate account of all monies received and disbursed. Reconciles all bank statements when received. Maintains records of student fundraising events such as the annual BBQ ticket sales. Works with appointed accounting firm to ensure that QuickBooks program entries are accurate. Files IRS form 990 in timely manner. Responsible for all correspondence that is required by the State Comptroller’s Office. Will appoint an individual who will serve as an assistant to work closely with the officer to fulfill duties required during large fundraising events.
Secretary: The Secretary is responsible for taking minutes at all Band Booster meetings, including the Executive Board meetings. Presents minutes for review and approval at each meeting. Maintains all governance records, including notices, agendas, and minutes. Responsible for maintaining booster website to include posting minutes from all general booster meetings and updating the Booster Calendar. Performs other duties as requested by the Board.
Fundraising Coordinator: The Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for identifying fund raising activities and presenting them to the Board for approval. Responsible for ordering and maintaining all promotional items such as t-shirts. Responsible for maintaining an inventory list of promotional items on hand and items sold. Responsible for identifying individuals to sell promotional items at home football games and other events. Responsible for posting and maintaining items on the Rev-Track website. Responsible for coordinating with the Lehman HS front office staff , to sell promotional items. Responsible for coordinating with the Treasurer to deposit all funds collected. Performs other duties as requested by the Board.
Pit Crew Coordinator: The Marching Season/Pit Crew Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that parents are available to move equipment on and off the field at appropriate times including color guard equipment. Prepares 18 wheeler for unloading at events to include, opening the doors, putting the ramp down and taking percussion equipment out of the trailer. Will appoint an individual who will serve as an assistant. Performs other duties as requested by the Board.
Volunteer Coordinator: The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting volunteers to serve at Band Booster events, maintain Charms volunteer and event information, and maintain a master list of volunteer assignments and participation, including the documentation of service hours. The Volunteer Coordinator will appoint an individual who will serve as an assistant to work closely with them to fulfill the duties as outlined. Performs other duties as requested by the Board.
Ways and Means Coordinator: The Ways and Means Coordinator is responsible for the purchase of food, supplies and materials that are needed for all Band Booster functions, fundraising and marching season activities. Responsible for maintaining an accurate list of all items that are in the storage unit, making sure that all items are labeled. Maintains all equipment that is in the storage unit. Maintains a list of all items removed from storage and tracks their return. The Officer will appoint an individual who will serve as an assistant to work closely with the officer to fulfill the duties as outlined. Performs other duties as requested by the Board.
Advertisement Coordinator: The Advertisement Coordinator is responsible for chairing the Publicity Committee and is responsible for all advertisement of Band Booster activities within the community. Responsible for placing advertisement in newspapers, community flyers, HOA newsletters and making fliers and banners for events. Responsible for generating mass communication information to general membership through email, Twitter and Facebook. Performs other duties as requested by the Board.
